Top 25 of the Best Christmas Rock Songs

For these Christmas holidays 2019 we offer you a Top 25 of the Best Christmas rock Songs. As always you can click on FULL PLAYLIST and start the compilation, or click on the individual songs. Below we talk a little about our choices and give you some more information about the bands and songs.

What will you find in this compilation with the best Christmas rock songs

Let’s start with the Ramones and with their “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight)”, which is contained in the legendary 1989 album “Brain Drain”, the same in which you find the great success “Pet Sematary”. In the “Merry Christmas” video, we witness a somewhat eventful Christmas party, with two lovers having a fight.

Bon Jovi’s “Please Come Home For Christmas” is a cover of the blues musician Charles Brown. In the video of the song you also see Cindy Crawford kissing Bon Jovi and he has a Santa Claus hat. It is not the best for a rocker who exudes masculinity but this is also done at Christmas…

From AC/DC we listen to two songs: “Mistress For Christmas” and “Happy New Year! – Have A Drink On Me”. The first is contained in the album “The Razors Edge” of 1990 while with the second we go to 1980 with the album “Back in Black”.

Queen could not miss with “Thank God It’s Christmas” from the 1984 album “The Works”. The lyrics are by Brian May and Roger Taylor. The single stayed six weeks on the UK charts.

Several songs from this playlist are taken from “We Wish You a Metal Xmas and a Headbanging New Year“, an album of Christmas Rock songs from 2008. Various hard rock and heavy metal musicians collaborated on the album. Everyone has reinterpreted the classic Christmas songs in their own way. Here we listen to “Little Drummer Boy”, “We Wish You A Merry Xmas”, “Santa Claus Is Back In Town” and “Run Rudolph Run”.

Twisted Sister in 2006 produced their seventh studio album entitled “A Twisted Christmas” and here we listen to “Heavy Metal Christmas” which takes up the popular song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”. We also offer you “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”.

Of the Rancids we listen to “X-mas Eve”. They are an American punk rock band, originally from California. They have been playing since 1991 and have 10 albums behind them. Dropkick Murphys are a celtic punk band from Massachusetts and have been playing since 1996. The song is not really rock but it really deserves and the video is insane.

Bad Religion is a hardcore punk band from Los Angels. They have been active since 1979 and this song you will listen to is a church song in a rock key (“Angels We Have Heard On High”). We finish this compilation of the best Christmas Rock songs with the Lordi. They are Finnish and play heavy metal. With this song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” they won the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.
